However, when it comes to addressing the safety of your windows really is a factor that you need to consider, especially if you have children.

Blinds, curtains and other window coverings can have a cord that allows one to raise, lower, open or close the blinds or curtains. Blind and curtain cords can present a strangulation hazard to children, as children can become entangled in them if they pull on them. Even with raised the cords will drop low in reach of the children. To minimise this risk, make sure that cords are kept away from children and furniture such as chairs, tables and cots aren’t placed under windows so that children don’t climb up to reach the cords.
